Verification FAQ
Why is verification required?
Checks are assigned proportionately using relevant payment, order, and account signals. JML does not use names or protected traits as fraud signals.
How long does it take?
Low-risk checks can finish in under a minute. Standard and elevated checks normally take 1–4 minutes. The final passkey prompt usually takes only a few seconds, excluding manual review.
Will JML ask for my card number?
No. Card information belongs in Stripe-hosted or Stripe-provided payment components. Never send it by email, SMS, chat, or support ticket.
What does the device check verify?
For a documented elevated-risk case, JML uses an origin-bound WebAuthn passkey response with local user verification required. It proves control of the credential, not a government identity. Biometric data stays on the device, and support, manual review, cancellation, and refund options remain available.
Does verification prevent a dispute?
No. Verification can reduce risk and create truthful records, but it does not prevent every chargeback or waive lawful consumer rights.
What if I cannot complete it?
Contact support for a manual review, appeal, or the applicable cancellation/refund path. JML does not hold purchased content indefinitely without review.
